Recording and Rehearsal Studios in York

Recording and Rehearsal Studios in York

Going to a recording studio can represent a significant investment, but if you go to a good one the results will far exceed your expectations. Here at Piano Lessons York we want you to be able to pursue your ambitions without breaking the bank, so we have compiled a list of our favourite recording studios in and around York. We don't want you to waste your time or your money so if you are looking to record your work then we do suggest that you start here. Of course, if you still can't find what you are looking for then we would be more than happy to advise.

Jam Factory Studios, offers a first class studio environment in a unique setting - an old Victorian factory! This studio prides itself in giving you a fantastic experience and we really couldn't recommend it enough. They also provide a range of other services and courses so you really should check it out! the studio is located at 106 Eldon St, York YO31 7NH and is easily accessible from the city centre.

Calder Recordings is situated in the beautiful countryside of West Yorkshire, and although a little further out than some of the other studios in York itself it is worth visiting if you are able to travel. The kit here is excellent and they have plenty of recording spaces, all custom-designed for optimal sound quality. If you are able to venture outside of York then we would encourage you to give it a try.

The Chair Works is the only studio in the area able to offer residential recording packages - a great option if you really want to throw yourself into the process! Also built into an old factory (guess what kind?), The Chair Works is probably the largest studio facility in the north of England. It can be found at Morrison Street, Castleford WF10 4BE, just off the M62.

Melrose Yard Studios is centrally located and easy to access from within the city of York. It can be found at 9 Melrose's Yard, York YO1 9XF. They also offer rehearsal facilities and even discounts for students, and so are a great studio if you are on a budget.

We really would encourage you to give as much time to this process as you can afford to, it is actually a lot of fun! Recording your music is the next natural step after you learn to play piano, and it really challenges you to tighten up your playing. Make sure you get plenty of practice in beforehand though, as the results will stay with you for a long time - so get back to the piano!
